Sandra Kay Carney 79, of Martins Ferry passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at East Ohio Regional Hospital. She was born on August 14, 1942 in Mattoon, Ill. Sandra is the daughter of the late Roscoe A. and Lorraine (Wade) Poe.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Martins Ferry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband John E. Embrey and second husband Clarence A. Carney.

Surviving is her sister Linda Shaw, of Effingham, Ill children, John (Ellen) Embrey of E. Cape Girdeau, Ill., Annette Burress, of Brilliant, Penny Sue (Thomas) May, of Thebes, Ill., grandchildren; Christopher Burress, Angela Embrey, and great-grandchildren; Arjay, Kaylin, Alexis, and Brooklyn Burress.

All services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
