Sarah E. "Sally" Hunn, 78, of N. 6th St., Martins Ferry, OH, formerly of Shadyside, OH died Thur., Mar. 2, 2006 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born May 26, 1927 in Shadyside a daughter of the late Ruby (Evans) Nelson. Sally was employed with the former VFW Post #3613 of Martins Ferry and served as a past District President of their Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the First Christian Church of Shadyside, OH. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her step-father Thomas E. Nelson, a daughter Linda Parkhurst, and a grandson. Surviving are her daughter Sherry Knutsen of Colerain, OH two sons William (Penny) Schmitt of Bellaire, OH and Bob Schmitt of St. Clairsville, OH, her long time companion James O. McAninch of Martins Ferry, eleven grandchildren including Ashley and Carly Knutsen, and several great grandchildren. Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Saturday, Mar. 4, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Minister Rod Kasler officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
