Sarah K. Powell, 90, of Bessemer, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Jameson Hospital. She was born August 16, 1922 in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late William and Edith Thomas. Sarah was a homemaker and also worked for Truck Stops of America, as a cook, for five years. She enjoyed reading, sewing and crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mardis E. Powell; son, Robert Powell; and one brother. Sarah is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Kenneth) Book, Jr. of New Castle, Pennsylvania and Joyce Tribe (Claude Berry) of Columbiana, Ohio; grandchildren, Christopher (Beverly) Book, Shawn Book, Kenneth (Mandy) Book III, and Anthony (Heidi) Tribe; great-grandchildren, Khayli, Brittany, Zachary, Christian, Madison, Caitlyn, Blake, Kendra, and Kennedy; sister, Margaret Galloway of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. Friends may visit, Saturday from 12 noon until the time of service at 1 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio. Reverend Tom Detling will be officiating.
