Selma M. (McConnaughy) Haught, 87, of Martins Ferry, OH died, Friday, Sept. 16, 2011 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born Nov. 5, 1923 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Paul and Nellie (Hahne) McConnaughy. Selma was a long time homemaker and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She enjoyed card parties and playing Bingo. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Fanny Elizabeth Angeles and brother-in-law Peter Angeles; a son-in-law, George W. Orend and her two loving pet dogs, Mindy and Angelina. Surviving are her husband of 65 years Charles E. Haught, two sons Jeff Haught and long time companion Sherry Nagy both of Martins Ferry and Jack (Kaye) Haught of Friendly, WV, two daughters Janice Brown of Altavista, VA and Brenda Orend of Martins Ferry, and a sister Agnes McConnaughy of California, grandchildren Stacy Wade and Terry (Heather) Brown of Virginia; Lisa (Steve) Chirpas of New Mexico, Eric Orend of Martins Ferry, and Jack and Michael Haught; great grandchildren Brianna and Jewel Chirpas of NM; Brooke Pope, Bragan and Devin Wade; Brendon, Landon and Camden Brown all of Virginia Friends will be received Monday 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held, Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011 at 10:00 am with John Oliver officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Belmont County Animal Shelter, 45244 National Rd. W., St. Clairsville, OH 43950.
