Sharon Sue Beck, 62, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, passed Friday April 12, 2013 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, W.Va. She was born in Martins Ferry on April 18, 1950, a daughter of Velma Ewing Applegarth and the late John Applegarth Jr. Sharon was a retired employee of the Martins Ferry School District, and a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry. She was an avid Purple Rider and Duke University Blue Devils fan. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband Herbert Beck Jr. in 1995, and a daughter Angela Ruth Schrimp in 2006. Sharon is survived by sons: Stephen (Christina) Beck of Moundsville, W.Va., Pete (Tiffany) Beck of Martins Ferry, and John (Lori) Beck of Shadyside, Ohio; brothers: John (Rose Anne) Applegarth of Martins Ferry, Donald (Tracy) Applegarth of Mars, Pa., a close friend Bonnie Bragg, and thirteen grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio, where services will be held 11:00 Tuesday April 16, 2013 with Rev.
