Shelly Metz, 55, of Barnesville passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving husband, daughter, Chelsea, and mother on September 24, 2022.  She was born on January 24, 1967 to Donna (Fuller) Wachtel and the late Paul Wachtel.

Shelly was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family.  She enjoyed traveling, holidays, and taking care of her four-legged fur babies. She dedicated her time to coaching, judging, and designing clothing for beauty pageants for over 25 years.  She also enjoyed rock hounding in Michigan and collecting pottery.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a sister, Hallie Wachtel.

In addition to her mother, Shelly is survived by her husband, Tommy Metz; children, Cyndle Reed (Bill Thacker), Chelsea (Bobby) Burkholder, Callie Reed, Glenn Metz; grandchildren, Hunter, Brodie, Brenna, Braden, Jett, and Paisley; grandmother, June Fuller; and siblings, Chris O'Kernick and Curt Wachtel.

All services are private and held at the convenience of the family.  Wilson Funeral Home, Bethesda Chapel is assisting the family.
