Shirley Ann Murray Beltz Dobkin, 91, passed away on Friday, June 20th at St. Anne's Hospital, Westerville, OH with her daughters by her side. Shirley lived in Bellaire, OH before moving to Wheeling, WV in 1980 and most recently resided at The Inn at Walnut Trail, Sunbury, OH. She was born on February 23,1934 in Bellaire, Ohio to Ruth Workman Murray Bires and Charles Murray. She was predeceased by her parents, granddaughter Chaila Danielle Crooks, and husband Edward B. Dobkin.
Shirley, a proud 1952 Bellaire High School graduate and Lifetime BHS Alumni Association member, was the first female drum major for the school band.
She was retired from Blue Cross - Blue Shield Wheeling and had worked at Bellaire Clinic for many years. In her retirement, she worked at Clothes Collection in Wheeling. Known for her sewing skills, Shirley was a talented seamstress who sewed for dance studios and local residents. She received an Achievement Award from Bellaire High School Alumni Association for her creativity in the arts.
Survived by her three daughters, Stephanie Beltz Mendelson (Gordie Longshaw), Bellaire; Dawn Beltz (Jeffrey) Dembrosky, Sardis; and Susie Beltz (Paul) Krajnyak, Galena. She cherished her five grandchildren: Erica Mendelson (Andrew) Yanchus; Lindsay Mendelson (Patrick) Fletcher; Courtney Crooks (Steven) Still; Ashley Davolio (Peter) Casuccio; Dominick (Audrey) Davolio IV. Her ten great-grandchildren always brought a smile to her face: Hanlon, Grace, Colleen, and Leah Yanchus; Olivia and Grant Fletcher; Chailyn Still; Angelo, Leo, and Giulia Casuccio.
She is survived by her sister, Sharon Bires (Richard) Klempa of Bellaire, and her nieces and nephews: Kristin and Lauren Klempa, Jason Klempa and family, and Matthew Klempa.
A Celebration of Life is being scheduled for the near future.
