SHIRLEY JOAN DUNABLE EDDY

Shirley Joan Dunable Eddy, 88, of Barnesville, passed away peacefully, to be with the Lord on November 7, 2021.

Shirley was born on May 18, 1933 in Belmont, Ohio to the late Christopher and Viola Phillips Dunable. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Cloyd Eddy; her sisters, Christina Hayes, Imo Jean Thomas, and June Henderson; as well as her brothers, Jay, Lyle, and Vaughn.

Shirley graduated from Belmont High School in 1951 and started her career working at IGA and would go on to retire, as a professional truck driver, for First Fleet Trucking in Cleveland, Tennessee. One of her significant career milestones was logging over one million accident free miles while driving an eighteen wheeler.

Shirley loved attending church, particulary Ekklesia Baptist Tabernacle in Ooltewah, Tennessee, New Salem Baptist Church in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, Westwood Baptist in Zanesville, Ohio, and Salem Baptist of Brandenburg, Kentucky. Shirley, when not working, enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, and spending quality time with family. She also had a knack for playing the organ and writing Christian songs and poems.

Shirley is survived by her five children; Joy (Tom) Bober of Flushing, Ohio; Julie Barnett of Leesburg, Florida; Jay Thatcher of Wichita, Kansas; Jeff (Janice) Thatcher of Barnesville, Ohio; and Tina (Chuck) Spragg of East Liverpool, Ohio. In additional to her children, Shirely is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are welcome for visitation, Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM with the service immediately following at Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio.  Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Cleveland, Tennessee.
