Shirley Marie Milhoan Shumaker, 57, of Belmont, Ohio passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at home, surrounded by her family. She was born May 7, 1954 in Cambridge, Ohio, daughter of Ruth Watson Milhoan and the late Wayne Milhoan. Shirley worked with the Belmont County Health Department and formerly worked in banking for several years. Shirley was currently Belmont County Fair Director and served as treasurer for six years. She was also a 4-H and Junior Fair Board Adviser. In addition to her mother, Ruth Watson Milhoan, she is survived by her son, Jeffrey Daniel Shumaker; granddaughter, Abigail; brothers, David (Betty) Milhoan and Bob (Dena) Milhoan; nieces, Ashley Milhoan, Veronica Edwards, and Brittany Milhoan; nephews, Brandon (Chrissy) Milhoan, Cory (Ann) Milhoand, and Robbie Milhoan; her very special friend, Gary Lucas; and many other special friends that touched her life. Friends may visit, Tuesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted, Wednesday 10 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church, 306 West Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Monsignor Mark J. Froehlich officiating. Interment will follow at Belmont Cemetery, Belmont, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Belmont County Agricultural Society, P.O. Box 704, St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950. Contributions will be used to purchase cages for the rabbit and poultry barns. A special thank you to Dr. Mehrotra, his staff, and the third and fifth floor nurses at OVMC.
