Shirley Singer Smith, 82, of Flushing, Ohio was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.  She was born on June 10, 1935 in Pinckneyville, Illinois to the late Howard A. Singer and Hulda M. Schroeder Singer. First and foremost in Shirley's life was her love for the Lord, leading her to be a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a prayer warrior and never afraid to ask those who she came in touch with, if they knew the Lord.  She loved to travel and made many trips to the Holy Land.  She was an excellent cook and baker, especially enjoying making cookies.  She was co-founder and active member of Trinity Gospel Fellowship, serving as the director of the music program, directing the choir and their many cantata performances. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Smith; son, Danny Smith; and sisters, Madonna Wieman and Dee Cameron. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Cari (Doug) Ruble of Visalia, California; sons, Larry (Betsy) Smith of Pickerington, Ohio, Gary (Missy) Smith of Flushing, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Patty Smith of Flushing, Ohio;  grandchildren, Mickey and Shane, Jacob (Jennifer), Travis (Rebecca), Joshua, Matthew, and Hannah Smith, Rishelle (Matt) Silva, Breanna and Jamie Ruble; 17 great-grandchildren; and one, great-great-granddaughter. Family and friends are welcome to visit, Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m., Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio.  The service for Shirley will be held Sunday at 1 p.m., Trinity Gospel Fellowship, 71101 Morristown-Flushing Road, Flushing, Ohio.  Interment will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery, Flushing, Ohio.
