Sophie Ann Evans 90 of Bridgeport, died Tuesday September 29, 2015 at the home of her son in Powhatan Point surrounded by her family. She was born May 15, 1925 in Provident, Ohio, a daughter of the late Louis P. and Kathryn (Treczon) Yazombek. She was a retired nurse for East Ohio Regional Hospital, and a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church Bridgeport. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert R. Evans in 1965, a grandson Christopher Evans, brothers Joe, Stanley, Yazombek, and Andy Gayvont, sisters Mary Schrmack, Bertha Cuffaro, Louise and Catherine Yazombek. Sophie is survived by two sons Bruce Evans of Powhatan Point, and Edward "Buzz" (Kim) Evans of Beallsville, Ohio, a sister Alyce Yazombek of Wheeling, five grandchildren Brent Evans, Cathy (Jason) Piatt, Jessica (Paul) Kosky Erica (Jason) Frye, and Chandler Kilburn, six great grandchildren Cody and Cory Croxton, Chanda Socha, Sophia and Olivia Kosky and Caroline Frye, three great- great- grandchildren Addy, Aiden, and Jeremy. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Friday October 2, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 am at St John Vianney Catholic Church Powhatan, Ohio, with Fr.
