Stanley E. Minder, 65, of Martins Ferry, OH died Monday, Oct. 18, 2010 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH. He was born August 19, 1945 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Eugene S. and Estella (Kelley) Minder. He retired as Superintendent of the Water Department for the City of Martins Ferry. Stan was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry and an honorary member of the Martins Ferry Fire Dept. and E-Squad with over 30 years of service. He was a charter member of Belmont County 911 Board and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Mindi Su Minder and two brothers Jimmy and Joseph Minder. Surviving are his wife Sharon L. (Kitson) Minder, his son Bryan (Dana) Minder of Martins Ferry and two grandchildren Michael and Allyson Minder, two brothers Mike Minder of Moundsville, WV and Clayton (Julie) Minder of Wickliffe, OH, four sisters Cheryl (John) Jones, Pamela Meeker, and Patricia (Chuck) Eddy all of Martins Ferry and Rachelle (Vicki Onus) Mozena of N.C. and a sister-in-law Bernadette Minder of Martins Ferry. Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, Wednesday 5-9 pm and Thursday, October 21, 2010 from noon until time of services. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Rev. Tom Marut and Rev. Thomas A. Magary officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Martins Ferry Fire Department will hold services Wednesday at 7:00 pm followed by Wake services at 8:30 pm both in the funeral home.
