Stephen "Wayne" Moore Sr. passed away at his home on July 23, 2023.  He was born on January 7, 1955 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late William C. and Eloise (Stephens) Moore of Bethesda, Ohio.

Wayne went to Bethesda Elementary School and Union Local High School.  He worked in several bodyshops, painting and doing bodywork on vehicles.  He liked to drive in demolition Derby's; he built and painted his own cars for them.  He drove in two DENT demolition Derby's.  In the early 90s, he started his own business "Moore's Towing" which he had for over 20 years.  He sold the company and then after a few years started another, "Wayne's Towing" until he retired 3 years ago.  He was like his Dad and Never Knew a Stranger.  He loved dogs and cats and going fishing.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Nettie Stephens of Ravenswood; J. and Mill Moore of Ravenswood; and a son, Stephen E. Fluharty of Barnesville.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Cheryl Moore of Belmont; two children, Angela Moore of Barnesville and Stephen Moore Jr. of Bethesda; two grandsons, Shade and Sonny Fluharty; one brother, Hubert C. Moore of Florida; three brother-in-laws, Lance (Diane) Jones, Rick (Teresa) Jones, Larry Jones; and several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends and family are encouraged to visit on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, Bethesda Chapel, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio 43719.  The funeral service will be at 7pm with Pastor Tim Snyder officiating.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
