Suyza R. Funari, 66, of Barnesville, Ohio, died Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab. She was born January 28, 1948 in Barnesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Glenn E. Ballard and Violet M. Kirkpatrick Ballard. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and a friend to all that knew her. She attended First Baptist Church of Barnesville where she played the piano for the church for many years. A devout Christian, Suyza knew the joy of living her life for the Lord. Her faith was seen by many in her daily walk with the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael A. Funari; brother, Garry D. Ballard; and sister, Laurel L. Gray. Suyza is survived by her daughters, Michelle D. Funari of Columbus, Ohio, Jaime S. (J.R.) Funari of Barnesville, Ohio; sons, Timothy M. (Deborah) Funari of Galloway, Ohio, Daniel D. (Tricia) Funari of Barberton, Ohio; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Sharon C. (Ronald) Lane of Piedmont, Ohio, Iris M. (David) Wilson of Canton, Ohio, Dawn (Larry) Kester of Taylors, South Carolina; brothers, Roger K. (Sally) Ballard of Naples, Florida and Larry D. (Shirley) Ballard of Florence, Colorado; sister-in-law, Rosemary Ballard of Hickory, North Carolina; and brother-in law, Ike Gray of Westland, Michigan. Family and friends may visit, Saturday, May 17, 2014 from noon until 1 p.m., with a Memorial Service following at 1 p.m., First Baptist Church of Barnesville, Ohio. Pastor Rodney West officiating.
