Obituary

Tammy Lynn Myers passed at home surrounded by her family on August 22, 2022 after a long and heroic battle with cancer. Tammy was born December 6, 1958 in Wheeling to Rolie and Shelva Woods of Colerain, Ohio.

Tammy was preceded in death by her husband Charles F. Myers, III and her beloved dogs, Muffin and Sandy as well as her Granddogs, Gracye, Saranac, and Fordham.

Tammy is survived by her children Mandy Helt, Adam (Rosa Zeno) Helt, Charlie (Priscilla) Myers, Karen (Kevin) Brown, Robert Myers; best Golden Granddog pack Gus, Clementine and Magnolia; grandchildren Ivey, Kayla, Benjamin and Isaiah Myers, Oliver and Simon Brown; sisters Beth (Cousin Larry) Bickerstaff, Allison (Jim Langford) Craig, and Stacey Woods; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Special friends whom she considered family and who all helped support Tammy by driving her to appointments, chemo and radiation treatments, providing steadfast support to herself and her children are Susie Fullerton, Sue Renzella, Susan West, Chris and Steve Koteles, and Barb and Mike Roth.

Tammy was interested in crafting, sewing, counted cross stitch and made countless baby blankets for family and friends. More recently she quilted blankets for special loved ones and believed in giving back to others through her quilting. In the last few years, Tammy created more than 150 quilts; for newly diagnosed cancer patients at the Ohio State James Cancer Center; for first responders and victims of the western wild fires; and for anyone in need through the quilting ministry at St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wheeling. Tammy also created angel gowns from donated wedding dresses for stillborn or premature babies for local hospitals.

For several years Tammy bowled on a bowling team with her son Adam, found great pleasure in attending musical theatre productions in Pittsburgh with her daughter Mandy, and loved road trips to visit Karen, Kevin, Oliver and Simon. Tammy was happiest at home on her deck sharing food and drinks with friends or at the beach watching the sunrise and sunset while listening to the waves.

The family would like to give a huge thank you to the teams at the Ohio State James Cancer Center and the Martha Moorehouse Outpatient Care Center for giving them the blessing of more years and more memories with Tammy.

As requested by Tammy, there will be no visitation or funeral service, however a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home, Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to:
