THELMA MAE HOLMES, 95, of Colerain, died Monday, March 10, 2008 at Sunset Health Care in Adena. She was born January 11, 1913 in Hendrysburg, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles and Ada Kirkpatrick Grall. Thelma was a member of the First Baptist Church in Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Freeman Holmes, Sr.; a son, Paul ""Eugene"" Holmes; two brothers Frank and Charles Grall; four sisters Retha Wood, Edna Stephens, Opal McCulley and Helen Ealy and a granddaughter Paula Dennis. Thelma is survived by two sons Freeman Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Dillonvale and Donald and his wife Patricia of Albuquerque, NM; three daughters Eleanor Vanaman and her husband Arnold of Sunset Heights, Helen Dennis and her husband Larry of Martins Ferry and Norma Rethy and her husband Charles of Ft. Wayne, IN; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 on Friday at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with Reverend John Oliver officiating.
