Thelma A. (Miller) Lutz Bauknecht, 91, of Martins Ferry, OH died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care, Martins Ferry. She was born Nov. 29, 1918 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Jessie H. and Thelma (Winland) Miller. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband John "Paul" Lutz, second husband Alfred Bauknecht, five sons Charles "Chas", Walter " Gene", Gary , Bob, and Dave Lutz, a brother Charles "Chick" Miller, and four sisters Louella Shiffman, Maribel Smith, June Harris, and Elsie Goff. Surviving are six sons, Donald (Nancy) Lutz, Richard (Mary) Lutz, Albert (Shelly) Lutz, and Thomas Lutz all of Martins Ferry, Mark (Polly) Lutz of Columbus, OH, and John " Jack" (Stephanie) Lutz of Phoenix, AZ, a daughter Mary Kaye (Jim) Markus of Martins Ferry, two brothers William "Bee" (Joan) Miller of Martins Ferry, and Lawrence (Elva) Miller of Spokane, WA, 37 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Rev. Tom Marut officiating. Entombment follows in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Martins Ferry. Rosary devotions will be recited Wednesday at 3:00 pm followed by Wake services at 7:30 pm in the funeral home.
