Thelma A. (Zainoon) Carroll, 79, of Colerain, OH, died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at home. She was born Nov. 10, 1929 in Moundsville, WV a daughter of the late Zaidan and Wilhemina (Azar) Zainoon. She was retired from Hilltop School of Martins Ferry City School District. Thelma was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wolfhurst, OH and a former member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, Colerain. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Bertha and Helen Zainoon. Surviving are her husband Thomas A. Carroll, three daughters Sally (Peter) Moon of New Albany, OH, Susan (John) Martin and Shelly (Pat) Cox both of Raleigh, NC, a son Thomas A. (Jackie) Carroll, Jr. of Raleigh, NC, and ten grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Friends will then be received Tuesday May 26, 2009 from 10 am until time of a Memorial Mass at 11 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wolfhurst, OH with Rev. John F. Mucha officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 68210 Neola Ave, Bridgeport, OH 43912.
