Thomas G. Pierce, 88 Barnesville, Ohio, died Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Belmont Manor in St. Clairsville, Ohio. He was born January 19th 1928 in Clinchfield, Virginia, son of the late Roma Pierce and Margie Hale Pierce.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Marilynn (Brush) Pierce and 3 sisters.
Surviving are Tom's sons, Dale (Chris) Pierce of Weirton, WV and Thomas (Sue) Pierce of Freeport; daughter Joyce (Sam) Nardo of Belmont; and four grandchildren. Tom will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Tom was a US Army veteran, served with the 82nd Airborne during the Berlin Air Lift, served with the 187th Airborne, and was a Prisoner Of War for 16 months, during the Korean War. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for many years in New York and Florida. He was a mechanic for Barnesville Lumber & Supply, Village Lumber & Supply, and later, a mechanic for AB&L Concrete in Morristown. He enjoyed motorcycles and was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association, a member of the Barnesville Motorcycle club for many years, and served as a Barnesville Volunteer Fireman for a number of years.
At Tom's request, visitation and services will be private, with burial taking place at Ebenezer Cemetery Bethesda, Ohio.
