Thomas L. Smith, 72, of Martins Ferry, OH died Sunday, Mar. 11, 2012 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born May 27, 1939 in Martins Ferry a son of the late George and Anna (Ross) Smith. He was an employee of the former Picoma Industries of Martins Ferry and a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Pamela Smith, brothers; Frank, George, Harold, Russell and Charles Smith, and Bigler and Pete Myers and a sister Nora Lee Tracey, Surviving are his daughter Melissa Smith, son Jason Smith and sister Tacy Kruger of Martins Ferry. Friends will be received Thursday, Mar. 15, 2012 from 4:00 pm until time of services at 7:00 pm with Rev. William O. Webster officiating at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH. Interment at the convenience of the family. Military honors will be held at 6:45 pm at the funeral home by the VFW Belmont County Honor Guard.
