Thomas Eugene Snyder, 95, of Wheeling, passed away peacefully Monday, March 22, 2021 in Wheeling Hospital.  He was born on January 31, 1926 in Cameron, WV a son of the late Ralph and Maud (Bryan) Snyder.  He was a member of the Wheeling American Legion Post 1, the IOLA Club in Wheeling and the Sternwheelers Association.  Thomas served his country in the US Merchant Marine during WWII and the US Army during the Korean War and was a retired member of the Iron Workers Local 549 Wheeling.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lorna "Sue" (Jones) Snyder; and a daughter, Susan Butler; a niece Beth Wright Bragg and a nephew, Charles Wright.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Katherine L. Wright.

Friends may call Thursday from 11am-1pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside.  Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1pm in the funeral home with Reverend April Forkey of New Life United Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
