DEIHL, Vance K., 66, of Bridgeport, Ohio, died Thursday August 26, 2010 at OSU Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. He was born September 12, 1943 in Carlisle, Pa the son of the late Lee and Helen Mellenger Deihl. Vance retired after 30 years with the Martins Ferry School District as a teacher, coach, and athletic trainer; he was also a member of the Martins Ferry Education Association. He was a graduate of Big Springs High School, West Liberty State College, and the University of Detroit with a Masters Degree. Vance was a member and president of the Bridgeport Forresters Vance enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing with his family and friends. Vance is survived by his wife of 41 years Susann (Neuhardt) Deihl, two daughters Vanessa Schroeder and her husband Paul of Westerville, Jennifer Nichols and her husband Joe of Las Vegas, Nevada, brother Ronald Deihl, sisters Joyce Chestnut, Jane Grimes, Katherine Gitt, Joan Splain, and Margaret Darhower all of Carlisle, Pa, and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside Sunday August 29, 2010 from 12-4 and 6-8. Services will be held Monday August 30, 2010 at 10 am with Rev David Demarest officiating interment to follow in Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
