Velma G. (Livengood) Rush, 93, of Wheeling, WV, formerly of Somerset County, PA, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007. She was born Sept. 6, 1913 in Somerset County, PA a daughter of the late Lewis and Myrtle (Schweitzer) Livengood. She was a devoted wife and mother and a life long member of the Church of God. Velma loved gardening and making quilts for the entire family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years Ray C. Rush, her son Guy Rush, and a great grandson Donnie Soberdash. Surviving are three daughters Nancy Brocht and her husband Jerry of Wheeling, Lois Darr widow of Fred Darr and Faye Knepper and her husband Royal all of Kingwood, PA, a daughter-in-law Barbara Mincek Rush, seventeen grandchildren, and numerous great and great great grandchildren. Friends will be received Tuesday 2-9 PM at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, PA where services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Gerald Deffenbaugh officiating. Burial follows in Somerset Memorial Park, Somerset, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, Inc., 132 Peters Run Rd., Wheeling, WV 26003.
