Smith, Vera M. 83 of Pittsburgh, PA, formerly of Bridgeport, OH, passed away peacefully on Friday December 28, 2012 at Allegheny General Hospital Pittsburgh, surrounded by her loving family. Vera was born February 3, 1929 in Bridgeport, to the late Bonnie Marie (Covy) and Hadress Winston Gatchell. A loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, Vera will missed by her family and friends. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kirkwood. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carl "Red" Smith. Surviving are her children Dave of Wheeling, Hadress of Canton, Bonnie (Jeffery) Stephany of Pittsburgh, and Todd and his fiancée Tricia Edge of Wheeling, also surviving are her sister Pat Grover and her husband Skip, and her brother Bill Gatchell both of Bridgeport, four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Family and friends will be received Sunday December 30, 2012 from 12-3 and 5-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside, where services will be held at 10 am on Monday, with Rev. James Hoff officiating, interment in Weeks Cemetery Bridgeport.
