VERNON E. BAILEY
Vernon E. Bailey, 83, of Bethesda, Ohio, was welcomed to his eternal home, January 8, 2020. Born June 6, 1936 in Bethesda, Ohio, he was one of seven children born to Mack C. and Hazel Turner Bailey.
In addition to his parents, preceding Vernon in death are his brothers, Robert and Mack Bailey and infant sisters, Virginia and Maxine Bailey.
Vernon will be greatly missed and is loving remembered by his family; wife of 61 years, Charlene Bailey of Bethesda; sons, Richard Lee (Karen) Bailey of Commercial Point, Ohio, Kenneth Vernon (Alice) Bailey of Athens, Ohio; grandchildren, Courtney Suzanne Creekbaum and Tadd Richard Bailey both of Commercial Point, Ohio, Owen Spencer and Ethan Oliver Bailey both of Athens, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Chloe Suzanne, Quinn Bailey, and Carter Creekbaum, Eva Held; step-granddaughters, Kait Grogan and family of Dallas, Texas and Kai Kern and family of Longview, Texas; and brothers, Wayne Eugene (Sandra) Bailey of Walnut Creek, California and David Allen Bailey of Pasadena, California.
A God-given gift of being a devoted family man, Vernon was a lifetime member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Bethesda High School and a lifetime member of Local Union 1149. His caring nature led him to being a foster parent for many children.
Family and friends are welcomed for visitation, Friday, January 10, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 10:00 am until the time of service, beginning at 11:00 am, Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda.
The family requests Memorial Contributions in Vernon's name may be made to Bethesda United Methodist Church, 233 N. Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio 43719.
