Violet "Vi" Marie Neal, 93 of Canton, formerly of Martins Ferry passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  Vi was born February 2, 1928.  She was the daughter of the late Ernest Thrasher and Hazel (Anthony) (Thrasher) Hartfile.

Vi was preceded in death by her loving husband Tim Neal in 2016, and two sons, Tim, and Ron along with brothers Theodore and Fred Thrasher, sisters Wilma Kalinski, Martha Lato, and Jean Apostolec.

Surviving are her children, Sheila (James) Fox of Martins Ferry, Mark Neal of North Canton, Kelly (Betsy) Neal of Columbus and David (Heather) Neal of Cuyahoga Falls, Grandchildren Brandon (Sarah) Neal, Scott, Timmy, Christopher, Kilah, Breauna Neal and Angela (Sam) Potts, and 5 great-grandchildren, sisters, Ernestine Redman, Patty Drewett, and Sandy Shook, brothers Gary and Benny Hartfile and many loving nieces and nephews.

Vi was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Martins Ferry.  She worked for City Advertisers in Bridgeport and the Martins Ferry Eagles Bingo, she belonged to the Park Legion Lanes Bowling League, and member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary.

Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home, Heslop Chapel 415 Walnut Street Martins Ferry on Friday, August 27, 2021, from 2-4 and 6-8, and on Saturday, August 28, 2021, from 11:00 till time of service at 1:00.  Family request that mask be worn, and social distancing be observed.  In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Processing Center Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
