Koler, Vibeke Kirstine Lange, entered eternal life peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2008 in the presence of immediate family. Vibeke was born in Randers, Denmark on February 28, 1948, the daughter of Knud and Rita Lange. She graduated from Kristrup School and obtained a Commercial College degree in Randers. She attended nursing school in London, England before coming to the United States in 1969. Vibeke attended Ohio University and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bethany College with majors in both German and French. She was a retired German teacher from the Barnesville School system and Olney Friends School with 25 years of service. Vibeke also taught adult German classes at Ohio University Eastern, Belmont Tech, and at Mobay Chemical in New Martinsville, WV. Until recently, she worked as a part-time German professor at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. Vibeke was preceded in death by her infant son Erik, a younger brother Jorgen, her maternal grandparents Lauritz and Kirstine Sorensen, and her parents Knud and Rita Lange. Surviving are her husband Ted and daughter Heidi both of St. Clairsville, Ohio and a sister, Hanne Lange of Copenhagen, Denmark. Family and friends will be received Wednesday 5-8 p.m. at Wilson's Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio, where vigil service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday December 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clairsville, Ohio, with the Reverend Thomas Chillog as celebrant. Entombment will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. In respect and honor of Vibeke and her love and compassion for teaching, the family will be establishing a scholarship fund for aspiring foreign language students in the Barnesville secondary school systems.
