Obituary

Vicki Sue Cain Hoop passed away peacefully at her home in Somerton, Ohio surrounded by loved ones on December 12, 2023.  She was born on May 1, 1951 in Barnesville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles Cain and Joan House Cain Lucas.

Vicki was a 1969 graduate of Union Local High School. She was employed at Gabe's at the Ohio Valley Mall for over 25 years.  Vicki's nickname was the "Ring Lady", as people who knew her and even strangers marveled at the beauty and the amount of rings that she wore.  She loved tie-dyed items, tattoos, turquoise, gnomes, going to Casinos, reading, traveling and animals.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Leslie Cain, Marty Cain; a grandson, Matthew Luyster; former husband, Danny Luyster; and her husband, Gene Hoop.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Bruce (Melissa) Luyster of Barnesville, John (Jamie) Luyster of Somerton, Shawn (Rachel) Luyster of Davenport, Florida, and Richard (Amanda) Hoop of Sevierville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Daniel Luyster, Victoria (Sam) MacMillan, Grace Luyster, Jonathon Luyster, Bryce Luyster, Addison Luyster, Cade Branam; great-grandchild, Iris MacMillan; and her sisters, Charla Cain of Barnesville and Marcy Welsh of Caldwell; her friend Pam, and her cat Ebony.

All services are private. Wilson Funeral Home, Barnesville Chapel, 702 East Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio 43713 is assisting the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in Vicki's honor to Barnesville Public Library, the Belmont County Animal Shelter or Hospice of Guernsey County.
