Vickie Jean (Merkel) Kelly, 71 of Yorkville, formerly of Dillonvale, passed unexpectedly at UPMC Mercy Pittsburgh surrounded by her family. She was born August 10, 1948 in Massillon, a daughter of the late Myron "Dig" and Doris Jean (Hayes) Merkel.

She was a private caregiver, a homemaker, and also an avid Pittsburgh Pirate and Steeler fan.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Barry Merkel.

Vickie is survived by a son, Ron (Julie) Kendle of New Albany, a daughter, Lori (Scott) Sansoucie of Hopedale, a sister Chris (Michael) Blazeski of Dillonvale, a sister, Jacki Hicks of Tiltonsville, grandchildren Cody and Brandon Sansoucie, and Tori Kendle, great grandchildren Hunter and Jaden Sansoucie, and also several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 154 Second St. Dillonvale on Saturday August 31, 2019 from 12 noon till time of service at 2 pm, with Pastor Rob Yanok officiating, interment at Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to JDRF 100 West Old Wilson Bridge Road, Suite 118, Worthington, Ohio 43085.
