MARTHA VINICIA KRISS, 84, of Woodsfield, Ohio, formerly of Martins Ferry, died Monday, June 30, 2008 at Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born January 29, 1924 in Rayland, Ohio, daughter of the late John and Ida Swearingen. She was a retired Practical Nurse and was formerly employed at St. John Medical Center in Steubenville, Ohio and worked as a private duty nurse. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Kriss; two brothers Harry Lee Swearingen and Eugene "Herschel" Nolan; two sisters Irene "Gussie" Cerra and Marie Tout; as well as several nieces and nephews. Martha is survived by a sister Mary Lester of Savannah, GA as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She will be missed by her extended family of caretakers at Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she has resided since 1998. Friends and family are invited to attend graveside services Monday, July 7th at 1 pm with Pastor Ed Eberhart officiating at Linwood Cemetery, Blaine, Ohio.
