Virginia R. (Conaway) Hinzey, 90, formerly of N. 5th St., Martins Ferry, OH died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care, Martins Ferry. She was born June 12, 1920 in Scotch Ridge, OH a daughter of the late Hayes and Alice (Donley) Conaway. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Elmer J. Hinzey, Sr., two brothers Kenneth and George Conaway and three sisters Mary Hughes, Martha Mortakes, and Lorraine McGlothlin. Surviving are her sons John (Donna) Hinzey of Neffs, OH, Kenneth (Eva) Hinzey, Sr. of Martins Ferry, and Gregory (Marla) Hinzey of St. Clairsville, OH, two brothers and Carl (Shirley) Conaway of Martins Ferry and Bill (Mary) Conaway of Bethlehem, WV, two sisters Jean DeLelles of Martins Ferry, and Helen (Will) Miller of Shadyside, OH, five grandchildren Ken Hinzey, Jr., and Kimberly, Greg, David, and Lauren Hinzey, and three great grandchildren Lillian Marie Hinzey and Olivia Rose and Elizabeth Anna Simon. Friends will be received Thursday, 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, where services will be held Friday, Oct. 8, 2010 at 11:00 am with Rev. David A. Demerest officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Condolences to the family may be made by signing the guest book at the top of this page.
