Obituary

Virginia E. Mayberry, 93, formerly of Belmont, Ohio, died Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Astoria Place of Barnesville, with her family by her side. She was born July 9, 1922 in Glen Easton, West Virginia, daughter of Marion Webster Wilson and Neta R. Leta Gilbert Wilson. She was retired from Union Local Schools, where she worked as head cook and was a member of Chestnut Level Church of Belmont. She was a hard worker, being very committed to working beside her husband, Earl, on their farm. Virginia was known as Aunt Ginny and Ginny by many family and friends. She learned to sew and quilt when she had polio, as a very young child. She would make quilts for her family and friends to remember her by. She and her husband were avid square dancers with the Grand Squares. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Earl Mayberry in 1993; son, Ralph D. Mayberry in 1972; brothers, Oliver and Otis; infant brother; sisters, Lessie Mae Cain and Stella Marie Stonebraker. Virginia is survived by her sons, Rodney (Donna) Mayberry of Nashport, Ohio, Neal (Sandra) Mayberry of Belmont, Ohio; daughters, Barbara Saffell, Rebecca (Lee) Phillips all of Beallsville, Ohio, Wanda Brill of Barnesville, Ohio, and Iris Miller of Davenport, Florida; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome to visit, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio, where the service for Virginia will be conducted, Wednesday at 1 p.m. Pastor Brent Hopper officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda, Ohio. Interment

Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda, Ohio.
