Virginia M. O'Hara McPherson Carney, 84 of Martins Ferry, died Tuesday May 26, 2015 at Bishop Joseph H. Hodges Continuous Care Center Wheeling. She was born July 28, 1930 in Martins Ferry, a daughter of the late Harald and Hazel (Duke) O'Hara. She was a Christian by faith, and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Joseph McPherson, and her second husband Edward Carney, two sons David and Michael McPherson, brothers Bernard, William and Robert O'Hara, sisters Hazel Onko, Clara Deaton, and Alma Kogut. Virginia is survived by four sons Joseph (Judy) Michaels of Bridgeport, Bruce A. McPherson, Steve E. McPherson, and Wayne L. McPherson all of Wheeling, a brother Harald O'Hara of Martins Ferry, fourteen grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Friday May 29, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm where services will be held on Saturday at 11 am with Rev.
