Virginia A. (Serb) Battistone, 84, of Virginia St., Martins Ferry, OH died Friday, June 18, 2010 at her home. She was born June 5, 1926 in Bridgeport, OH a daughter of the late Aldrich and Agnes (Maizlik) Serb. She was retired from the AL Shaw Jewelry Store, St Clairsville, OH and also a former employee of Super-X Drug Store, Martins Ferry. Virginia was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Londi Battistone, a sister Dorothy Regel. Surviving are a daughter Judith (Renick) Minor of St. Clairsville, OH, three sons David (JoAnn) Reese of Omaha, NE, Tyrone (Sharon) Battistone of Wheeling, WV, and Anthony (Vickie) Battistone of St. Clairsville, OH, a sister Margaret (Tom) Shedwell of Bridgeport, OH, five grandchildren J. Craig Offord of Denver, NC, David Offord of Hayward, CA, Leah Comas of Bridgeport, Nicholas and Lauren Battistone both of St. Clairsville, and three great grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday 3-5 & 7-9 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Msgr. Thomas Petronek officiating. Entombment follows in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Martins Ferry, OH.
