W. Harold Skaggs, 80, of Byesville, Ohio passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge, Ohio. He was born December 9, 1931 in Speidel, Ohio, son of the late Albert Roy Skaggs and Laura Jane Heskett Skaggs. Harold was retired from the Metropolitan Police Department in Las Vegas, Nevada, after 21 years of service. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Emma Pastella; and brothers, Hillis and Lowell Skaggs. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jo Ann Hamblin Skaggs; daughter, Lynn (Gary) Atkinson of Barnesville, Ohio; son, Richard (Jeanie) Skaggs of Zanesville, Ohio; grandsons, Richard Andrew Skaggs and Wayne Alexander Skaggs; and sister, Barbara Craig of Bellaire, Ohio. Friends may visit, Friday 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Barnesville Public Library or Byesville Public Library.
