Walter T. "Tom" Hawk, 75, of Martins Ferry, OH died Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at his home, after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was born January 7, 1942 in Wheeling, WV a son of the late Walter James and Mary Margaret (Norton) Hawk.

He was retired from the Fairmont Supply Company. Tom was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry and a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps.

He was a member of the first graduating class of Bishop Donahue High School in 1959 and a graduate of West Liberty State College in 1968.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Susan Elder and Rose Martin.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 53 years Bernice M. (Rea) Hawk, children Lisa (John) Wong of Reynoldsburg, OH and Tom (Michelle) Hawk of Hilliard, OH, siblings, Robert (Charlotte) Hawk of Emerald Isle, NC, James Hawk of St. Clairsville, OH and Carol (Douglas) Shoaff of Wheeling, WV and grandchildren, Luka, Faith, Keyle and Ethan.

Tom was a wonderful husband, father and PeePaw and everyone loved his quirky sense of humor.

Friends will be received Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 10:00 a.m until time of Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Fr. Tom Marut officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. The family kindly requests no flowers.
