Walter Wisnick, Jr., 85, of Treadway Rd., Martins Ferry, OH, died Tue., April 27, 2004, at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care, Martins Ferry. He was born Apr. 16, 1919 in Blaine, OH a son of the late Walter and Pauline G. (Jablinske) Wisnick, Sr. Walter devoted his life to farming and raising cattle along with a career that included retiring from the former Picoma Industries, driving a school bus for Martins Ferry City Schools and a coal truck for Ohio Coal Co. He was also active for many years with the Univ. of Michigan Health and Retirement Study. He was a member of the Belmont Co. Farm Bureau, Croation Fraternal Union, Buckeye State Sheriff's Assoc., Picoma Union, NRA, and he was a Protestant. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Paul T. and George W. Wisnick and a sister Helen Marie Wisnick. Surviving are four sisters Rose Coville of Martins Ferry, Marie Tirpkoff of Mt. Clemons, MI, Helena Higgins of Silver City, NM, and Elaine VanDerMaas of Lexington, MI, a niece Rose E. (Coville) Berwinkle and her husband Edward W. of Delaware, OH, a great nephew Aaron Lee Berwinkle of Lewis Center, OH, several other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Friends will be received Thur. 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Fri., April 30, 2004 at 1:00 PM with Minister Terry Erwin officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
