Crum, Warren Ellsworth, age 99, of Bethesda, Ohio, (formerly of Edison, Ohio)
left this earthly world to be with his Lord and Master on
Tuesday, May 17, 2011 of natural causes.
He was born April 26, 1912 in Beallsville, Ohio, a son of the late
Elmer E. and Edna (Bruce) Crum. Raised in a warm and loving family,
Warren continued throughout his life to put family and the Lord first.
He was a steadfast husband, father, and Christian. He was a good
neighbor, lending his hand in times of crises.
Warren was an airplane mechanic instructor,
teaching hydraulics during World War II at Wright-Patterson Airfield in Dayton, Ohio. In 1947 after the war ended, he moved to Marion, Ohio
and worked as a tool and die engineer at the Hydraulic Press Manufacturing Co.,
in Mount Gilead. He retired from HPM just before his 79th birthday.
He was former mayor of Edison, Ohio. He served as an elder for the
Marion Church of Christ, Marion, Ohio. He was a member and a
former elder of the Barnesville Church of Christ. Warren spent many years mentoring the young people with whom he came into contact, so that
they would be capable of spreading the word of God. He often saw
the potential in these young people and knew that sometimes,
they needed the encouragement to believe in themselves.
In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by his first wife,
Evelyn VanDyne Crum; his second wife, Kathryn VanDyne Kemp Crum;
three brothers, Earl (in infancy), Charles and Edison; four sisters,
Elta, Eileen, Wilma, and Nora Lee; step-daughter, Joann Stonebraker.
He is survived by a son, Warren Allan (Rachel) Crum of Prospect, Ohio;
daughters, Eva Crum Baker of Bethesda (formerly of Nashville, Tenn.),
Karen Sue (Pat) Clifford of Port Mcquarry, Australia, Barbara Jean (Glen) Henderson of Clayton, Ohio; step-son, Donald (Twilia) Kemp of Bethesda;
step-daughter, Marlene (Donald) Barbe of Flushing; and sister,
Mary Ruth Bonar of Carrollton, Ohio. Also surviving are twenty
grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren;
and numerous nieces and nephews.
Warren will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Richland Road Church of Christ,
Tuesday 11 AM to 1 PM, where a service will follow.
Minister Val Roxby will be officiating.
Interment will follow at Rivercliff Cemetery, Mount Gilead, Ohio.
