Warren David
"Wardog" Stanley
November 1, 1976 – July 18, 2024
Warren David Stanley (Dave to everyone or "Wardog" to his coworkers at Cameron Portal Mine),of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away on July 18, 2024, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Dave was born on November 1st, 1976, in Tulsa, OK. In 2011 he found his other half in Joanne Flowers, and together they grew a large, loving, blended family that stood by, supported, and loved him up to and past his final moments. Dave was an amazing partner, and a loving father. He was a genuine, kind, and considerate person who loved deeply and without expectation. His favorite thing to do was to just spend time with his family.
Dave leaves behind his brother and sister, Frank and Heather Gordon as well as his fiancée, Joanne Flowers, and their children: Sam (34) and Shaq Wallace; Mandy (33) and Glenn Davis. Aly Kish (31); Sherrol Miller (30); Patrick Kish (28) and Hannah Morelli; David Stanley (25); Belle Stanley (22) and Todd Cardillo; Angelina Flowers (19) and Darian Zonker; Joseph Kurtley (9). Gage Howard (7); and Ella Flowers (2). He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren: Quan Wallace (9), Cattleya Wallace (7), Ivy Davis (5), Amaria Wallace (4), and Nova Wallace (1).
He is preceded in death by his mother Marie Hardway-Stanley and his grandson Lakota Smith. In addition, Dave leaves behind many more people he considers his children and close family, some of which are: Barbie and Tim Waddell; Salina, Adalei, and Aurora Howard; Jenny and Julian Nagy; KJ McKennen; Josey, Ty, and Joe Courtwright; and "his boys", Hayden McKnight, Austin Odem, Kyle Crupe, and Chi Kemp. He believed that family is not just an accident of birth, but something you can build and nurture, and the world is so much less now than it was whenhe was here.
"I think of things you used to say and all that you would do. At some point every single day My thoughts will turn to you. I know I can't be with you now, but you will always be with me. And safe inside my heart you'll stay That's where you'll always be."
Poem inspired by MS Moem.
