Wayne Ferris Anthony, Jr., 64, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014 after a nearly yearlong battle with esophageal cancer.Wayne was a 1968 graduate of Bridgeport High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1970-1971.He was a wonderful storyteller and was well-loved by his immediate and extended family.Wayne was a well-liked colleague at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, where he enjoyed a nearly forty-year-long career as a truck driver, and was a devoted friend to those that knew him. For years, Wayne attended the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport, Ohio.Wayne was predeceased by his father, Wayne F. Anthony, Sr., and is survived by his mother, Lucille P. Anthony, of St. Clairsville, Ohio. In addition to his mother Wayne is survived by a uncle Andrew "Chick" LaMotte of Bridgeport, his extended family consist of many cousins Nancy Lupo, Jack Beveridge, Linda Mouhlas, Chuck Wetzel, Barb Kucera, Sharon Heinlein, John Holler, Michele Smith, Bruce Holler, Kelly Cappelletti, Chick, Mike, Mark, and David LaMotte, also Tom and Peggy Baker, Bruce and Sheila Smith, and his many fellow trucker buddies from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel.A viewing will be held on Monday January 13, 2014 from 3-7 pm at Wilson's Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside, Ohio, and then on Tuesday January 14, 2014 from 10 am till time of service at 11 am at Giffin Park Church 280 East Main Street St. Clairsville, with Rev. Mark Statler officiating, entombment in Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice 10686 St. Rt. 150 Rayland, Ohio 43943.
