Wayne Everett
Price
September 9, 1951 – March 12, 2022
Wayne Price, 70 of Wheeling, WV was called to rest on March 12, 2022, after a 20-year courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 9, 1951, in Martins Ferry, Ohio to the late Clarence Sr. and Amanda (Hines) Price.
Wayne was a mighty man of God and an ordained deacon. He loved music, was a well-known percussionist, author, renowned poet with many prestigious awards. He became a successful property investor after retiring from Ormet Corporation in 1999. Wayne was a motivator to many, but raising his little girl, Autumn Rose, from 4 months of age into adulthood was the greatest motivation and joy of his life.
Wayne was an extremely caring, giving and praying man for anybody and everybody he came across. Wayne's love not only touched the hearts of those here today, but people from around the world.
A poem Wayne wrote and left us:
I'm a gift from God to you
He sent to you through me.
With nothing nice to say
I wouldn't be worth your time of day.
If I seldom shared my smile
I wouldn't be quite worth your while.
You can keep me forever
But only in your heart.
For when God called me home
I pray I did my gifted part.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Michael, Clarence Jr, Carl, Gordon, and sister Kim.
Wayne is survived by his wife Tana Lisa Cole Price of Wheeling, daughter Autumn Rose (Wendell) Smallwood of Mullica Hill, NJ, grandchildren; Mila Rose and Blaze Lynn Smallwood, sister; Robin Price of Tampa, FL, stepdaughters; Raynelle (Shane) Rickly of Amanda, OH, Brianna (Aaron) Dennis of Lowell, OH, step-grandchildren; Cooper and Sutton Rickly along with many nieces and nephews.
