Wayne A. "Pappy" Rager, 72, of Dillonvale, died Saturday March 22, 2014 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Martins Ferry. He was born January 12, 1942 in Mingo Junction, Ohio, a son of the late Melvin Sr. and Laura (Tweedy) Rager. He was a retired employee of Consol Mining Georgetown Plant, a Methodist by Faith. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War in the US Army, a member of the American Legion McCook Post #529, the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1572, and the Fireman's Club all of Dillonvale. Wayne loved music, stock car racing, working with his hands, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Patti Rager, brothers Marvin, Robert, Melvin Jr., Raymond, Ralph, and Thomas Rager, sisters Shirley Polen, and Shelvey Rogers. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Mary (Digman) Rager, two sons Wayne "Squack" (Pam) Rager, and Tim Rager both of Dillonvale, a grandson Tim (Danielle) Rager of Dillonvale, two great grandchildren Natalie, and T.J. Rager, a brother James (Jeniffer) Rager of Wheeling, and a sister Darlene Rager of Stow, Ohio, two special girls Haleigh, and Peyton, also several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 154 Second Street Dillonvale on Tuesday from 4-8 pm, where services will be held at 7:30 pm on Tuesday at the Funeral Home with Pastor John Wright officiating, interment in Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove at a later time. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation 200 S.E. t.
