Obituary

Willard W. Eiler, Sr., 85, of Sienna Point Nursing Home, Pleasant Grove, OH, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH and Powhatan Point, OH died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011 at Sienna Point. He was born Jan. 1. 1926 in Chester, WV a son of the late William N. and Gertrude V. (Hess) Eiler. He retired from the Martins Ferry Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Willard was a member of the former V.F.W. Post 3613 and a lifetime member of the Martins Ferry Elks. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army WW II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen (Stephens) Neal Eiler McCombs, his long time companion Edna Brown, a daughter Diana Gail Eiler, a son Kenny Neal, four brothers Lewis, Vince, Fred, and Richard Eiler, and two sisters Dorothy Mingo and Media Furbee. Surviving are his daughter Patty (Don) Cline of Martins Ferry, two sons Willard W. (Sherrie) Eiler, Jr. of Reno, NV and George D. Eiler of Sparks, NV, a brother George Eiler of Vail, AZ, grandchildren: Misty (Del) Neal-Guenther, Willard Eiler, III, Shantell (Brian) Blalock, Christopher (Jenny) Cline, Aimee (Patrick) Vitale, Brook, Autumn, and Wade Eiler, Jessica Davis, and Derek Eiler, and four great grandchildren. Family and friends will be received Sunday 12-3 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Monday, Feb. 28, 2011 at 10:00 am with Rev. Van D. Fisher officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Military honors will be presented at the funeral home Monday prior to services by the Belmont County Council of the V.F.W.
