Anderson, Jr.
October 22, 1948 – April 11, 2025
William J. Anderson, Jr., 76 of Bridgeport passed away Friday, April 11, 2025, at WVU Medicine/Wheeling Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Wheeling, WV, on October 22, 1948, the son of the late William J. and Betty Mae (Wensyel) Anderson.
Bill retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp, was a member of The Cave Club, Bridgeport Eagles, and the American Legion. He was a graduate of Bridgeport High School, Class of 1966, and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army 9th Infantry Division serving his country during the Vietnam War. He was a Purple Heart recipient and took great pride in his services to his country.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Jody L. Bain, and niece, Natascha Anderson.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Sharon (Nickerson) Anderson, son Brian (Robin) Anderson, step-children, Dean Ellis, and Kayla (Tim) Ullom, son-in-law, Pete Bain, brothers, John (Sue) Anderson and Thomas Anderson, grandchildren, Kristin (Billy) Moore, Jacob Bain, Kaylee Bain, Brayden and Jase Anderson, T.J. and Luke Ullom, great-grandchildren, Gage, Kendall, Jade and Morgan Moore
Family and friends will be received Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 4-8 at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Bridgeport. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 11am with Rev. James Hoff, officiating Full Military Honors at 10:45am at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Weeks Cemetery, Bridgeport, OH.
