Bill Aspenwall was born in Dunglen, Ohio, on February 9, 1927, eldest of five sons of the late William F. and June Barger Aspenwall. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School, Class of 1944. He served in the Phillipines during World War II. He attended West Virginia University and graduated from The Chicago Institute of Technology. He married the late Clara Waller Aspenwall and had two children. He retired from the Consolidated Coal Company and the Ohio Department of Transportation. Bill was a Republican and a Presbyterian. He served many terms on the Mount Pleasant Village Council and on the session of the First Presbyterian Church of Dillonvale. He was a member of several veterans organizations, the Smithfield Masonic Lodge and was a compatriot of the Ebeneezer Zane Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. He is survived by his son Timothy of Ft. Myers FL and Bethesda OH, daughter June Rhodes of Sunbury OH, grandson Eric Rhodes, his wife Sarah, two great-granddaughters Claire and Grace, "the little princesses," of Powell OH, and grandson Alex Rhodes of the home. He is also survived by two brothers, John Aspenwall (Ledra) of Cuyahoga Falls OH and James Aspenwall (Kathryn) of Wake Forest NC. He was preceded in death by brothers Rex, and Michael. Bill died peacefully in his sleep, in his bed in his home in Mount Pleasant, as he so wished. There will be no visitation. He will be interred into Holly Memorial Gardens at the convenience of the family. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 52 Liberty Street, Dillonvale OH.
