William R. Bianconi, Sr., 80, of Carlisle St., Martins Ferry, OH died Saturday, April 9, 2005 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born May 24, 1924 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Ruggero W. and Catherine J. (Colombo) Bianconi. He was retired from the Martins Ferry Post Office. Bill was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Italian American Club both of Martins Ferry, and the Alert Engine Co. of the Martins Ferry Fire Dept. He attended and played football for West Liberty State College upon his return from the U.S. Navy after WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Norma Jean (Ware) Bianconi, and two sisters Catherine Lucile Strickler and Betty Marchbank. Surviving are two sons William "Bill" (Sandie) Bianconi, Jr. of Belmont, NC and Bruce C. (Debi) Bianconi of Lloydsville, OH, a daughter Sharon (Joseph) Tomolonis of New Athens, OH, a sister Cecelia Bianconi of Martins Ferry, and seven grandchildren Toby Weber, Brenton & Bryan Clark, Bradley and Billy Bianconi, and Gina and Blair Bianconi, and a special son Rob Parry. Friends will be received Monday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Bill N. Lawrence officiating. Burial follows in Belmont County Memorial Park, St. Clairsville. Martins Ferry Fire Dept. will hold services Monday at 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
