William D. "Bill" Albert, 70, of Central Ave, Martins Ferry, OH died Thursday, Apr. 22, 2010 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV, He was born Sept. 3, 1939 in Bannock, OH a son of the late William and Helen (Laslo) Albert. He was retired from Nickles Bakery of Martins Ferry. Bill was a member and trustee of the Grace Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry and a member of Hazelwood Hills Boat Club of Piedmont, OH. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. Bill was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, fisherman and a Viking's fan. Surviving are his wife of 51 years Sandy (Neavin) Albert, two sons Bill (Stefania) Albert and Jim (Anita) Albert all of Martins Ferry, three daughters Dawn (Rich) Hadzima of Bridgeport, OH, Penny (Jeff) Assif of Morgantown, WV, and Nina (Sonny) Gartrell of Casper, WY, a sister Elizabeth "Cookie" McDaniel of Wooster, OH, and eight grandchildren Noah, Kasandra, Bayley, Sami, Sky, Conner, Layne, and Elliot. Friends will be received Sunday 12-2 & 4-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral services will be held Monday, Apr. 26, 2010 at 10:00 am at Grace Presbyterian Church with Rev. William O. Webster officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Elders of the church will hold bereavement services Sunday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Presbyterian Church.
