Obituary

William L."Bill" Butler, Jr., 84, of Mt. Pleasant Pike, Martins Ferry, OH died Tue., Jan. 27, 2004 at home. He was born Jan. 22, 1920 in Byesville, OH a son of the late William L. and Margaret (Tilley) Butler, Sr. Bill was a Vice-President and General Manager at the former Valley Machine of Martins Ferry and retired as Executive Vice-President from Tri-State Machine of Wheeling. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Ohio City Lodge #486 F. & A. M. both of Martins Ferry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Charles Butler and two sisters Virginia Anderson and Betty Butler. Bill was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who will be sadly missed by his wife of 59 years Lillian M. (Laase) Butler, two sons Gary Butler of St. Clairsville and William L. Butler, III of the home, three daughters Gail (Mark) Soboslai of Belle Vernon, PA, Debbie (Brian) Baiocco of St. Clairsville, and Cindy (Tom) Dudzik of Martins Ferry, eight grandchildren Shelley (John) Davidson, Jennifer, Michael, and Steven Soboslai, Bethany (Eric) Perez, and Brianna, Benjamin, and Brittany Baiocco, and several nephews and many close neighbors and friends. Friends will be received Thur. 3-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Fri., Jan. 30, 2004 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Bill N. Lawrence officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. Masonic Ritualistic Services will be held Thur. at 6:30 PM followed by Deacons of the church at 7:00 PM both in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 400 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935.
