William Dwayne Hamlin, 77, of St. Clairsville, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in Wheeling Hospital. He was born on May 12, 1949, in Grindstone, PA a son of the late Harold and Mildred Hamlin. Bill served his country in the US Army during Viet Nam, was a member of the St. Clairsville American Legion Post 159, the St. Clairsville VFW, the Elm Grove Eagles, the Warwood Veterans Club, and the Wheeling Cave Club. He also enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, watching the Weather Channel, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, Bill loved telling his stories and jokes and will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Linda (Mason) Hamlin; a daughter, Holly (David) Worwa, two grandchildren, David Worwa Jr., and Dakota (Michael) Worwa-Ferry; and a great grandson, Bentlee Worwa.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Kami Overfield.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12 pm in the funeral home with Reverend James Rhodes officiating. Entombment will follow in the Holly Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Pleasant Grove. Military Honors will be provided by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
