WILLIAM E. "BILL" PHILLIPS
William E. "Bill" Phillips, 84, of Barnesville, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Barnesville Hospital. Born May 7, 1933 in Quaker City, Ohio, he was the son of the late Cecil E. Phillips and Lucille Meighen Phillips.
Bill was a 1951 graduate of Quaker City High School. He was a heavy equipment operator working road construction for many years and was retired from the R & F Coal Company, where he worked as a drag line operator. He loved his family and was never happier than when he was spending time with them. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an Army Veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, C. Robert (Bob) Phillips and Jerry F. Phillips; niece, Kathy Ralston; nephew, Kevin J. Brown.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Thala Ralston Phillips of Barnesville, Ohio; sister, M. Marlene "Sis" (Nick) Dobrich of Bethesda, Ohio; brother-in-law, Charles (Linda) Ralston; special nephews, David, Mark, Brian, John, Jeff, Stephen; and beautiful nieces, Liana, Chris, Jenny, Lilly, Kathy, Karen, Cinda, Ann, and Paula Kay.
Family and friends are welcome to visit, Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 702 East Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio, where the service for Bill will take place, Saturday at 1 p.m. Pastor Rodney West officiating. Interment will follow in Friends Cemetery, Quaker City, Ohio.
